It is hard for me to choose one genre or medium to express my inspiration. Instead, I choose to not limit myself. I try (and fail at) new mediums all the time because I simply enjoy the process of creating.
The most exciting part is when I successfully bring something from my imagination into reality.
3D Art
Ceramics
Wheel throwing is probably the hardest and yet most rewarding art skill I am attempting to learn. The physicality of this medium connects my mind to my hands in a way that digital or traditional mediums cannot capture.
It is hard to have a digital portfolio capture the complexity of these shapes but using LiDAR Technology I’ve been able to create 3D models of my pieces to share with you!
Apollo Tiki Mug, 2021
A Christmas gift for my dad inspired by Apollo 18’s album art by the band They Might Be Giants.
Jarritos in Bloom, 2021
This piece was an attempt to capture some of the juxtaposition I felt at the time of two identities in one being. Jarritos and Mexican food in general is one of the main ways I connect with my Mexican heritage. The roses blooming out of the bottle symbolizes growth in my identity and learning to see the beauty in being part of two worlds.
Zines
Zines have been one of my tools to break away from Instagram and create art that is made to interact with. Read these to get started and if you weren’t already, I’m sure you’ll get hooked on zines.

Fiber Arts
Embroidery, Crochet, Sewing
Embroidery to me connects me to women across the centuries who had an eye for design and the patience to make the mundane beautiful. I love how mindless it can be to punch in and out of the fabric while watching a show, but 10 hours later you have a one-of-a-kind graduation cap.
Crochet is relatively new to me. I will only pick up the crochet hook for smaller projects like coffee cozies, hats, and even a bralette. I will often get loose track of my stitches, but when I can pick up the pattern, the final products are always very rewarding.
The first fiber art I picked up was sewing. Many hours spent with my grandmother helped me to become the seamstress I am today. Some of my projects include a bucket hat, a laptop sleeve, a fanny pack, a lanyard.
Murals
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to create larger-scale pieces. Each of these murals is located in dorms at Gonzaga University. My goal with these was always to create more color in spaces that are so important to student life.
Coloring Sheets
Oddly enough, I love designing coloring sheets but hate coloring them in. It is amazing to see others fill in my outlines in ways I never could have imagined. If you are needing an activity to pass the time check out these and more. Check out my freelance work here.
