This zine is inspired by corporate boredom. I say boredom instead of burnout because to me, burnout is more extreme. Long hours, a demanding boss, and not enough rewards or acknowledgment. By that definition, I’m not burnt out, but I am ready for a new challenge.
I feel stuck in limbo. Not quite enough experience for a promotion or to be competitive externally. At the same time, I could do my job in my sleep. Furthermore, the office “culture” is degrading due to return to office policies and rumors. The cherry on top is having AI everywhere, but in the least helpful ways. It’s getting to the point where one PowerPoint error message could send me spiraling.

Anyway, I’ve channeled these feelings into my latest zine. I’m grateful to be employed in this volatile job market, but there is something in me that wants my work to be a bit more meaningful. Hopefully, in 2026, I’ll have some new opportunities come my way.
Zine Shop & Fest
Outside of work, I already have some exciting things lined up, like launching my Etsy shop and tabling at Twin City Zine Fest on February 7th!
When I got my acceptance email for Twin City Zine Fest, I immediately texted all my friends and family. There were over 200 applicants for around 50 spots. I’ll also be working to beef up my Etsy shop over the next month or so, so anything I have at TCZF will also be available digitally. I launched it a few weeks ago after wondering for years if I should start one. So with all of that momentum, don’t be surprised if you see more new zines from me over the next month!
