Human Spiraling Zine + TCZF Zine Haul

Hello! Here to report that almost one month later, I’m still thinking about all the lovely people I met at Twin Cities Zine Fest. I had been prepping for months leading up to the fest, and honestly, I’m glad I did because I was able to trade and sell so many zines!

Not only that, but I ended up sharing a table with Sarah Evenson, who is the creator of the first zine I ever bought. Years ago now, I was at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and bought two zines, and one happened to be Sarah’s! I credit Sarah with starting me on this whole zine journey, and it was such an honor to table with them.

If you’re wondering how I’m confident enough to sell my art and share my ideas, I’m not. But I do it anyway. Sometimes there is a typo on the cover of my latest zine (yikes) or sometimes nobody buys any copies of a zine I’m really proud of (oof), but the amount of joy my little zine stand brought to passers by honestly would have been enough to make it worth it. Even to the people who just flipped through a few pages, thank you for interacting with my art 💖

Zine Haul: What I traded for at Twin Cities Zine Fest

This is a great episode if you’re looking for some zine-spiration and just inspiration in general. I find zinesters and their zines to be shiny bright spots in the chaos that is life.

Human Spiraling Zine

This zine was created in a manic state of overwhelm. Don’t worry, art is how I process stressful things, and this zine healed me while I frantically created it. It was extremely therapeutic since the process of making this zine was cutting up a Costco catalogue magazine and flipping those headlines and ads into a meaningful message.
